Numbers are the most powerful tool in your resume writing arsenal. Quantified achievements transform vague job descriptions into compelling evidence of your impact.
The Formula
Follow the CAR method: Challenge, Action, Result. Describe the challenge you faced, the action you took, and the measurable result you achieved. For example: "Reduced customer churn by 25% by implementing a proactive outreach program that identified at-risk accounts 30 days before cancellation."
What to Quantify
Look for numbers everywhere: revenue generated, costs reduced, time saved, team size, projects completed, customer satisfaction scores, uptime percentages, response times, and growth rates. Even if the number seems small, it is more powerful than no number at all.
When You Do Not Have Numbers
If exact numbers are not available, use reasonable estimates with qualifiers like "approximately" or "over." You can also quantify scope: "Managed a portfolio of 50+ client accounts" or "Supported 200 internal users across 3 departments."
